RSS, or Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary is the ultimate tool for information management that is gradually gaining popularity among users and web site owners. With RSS technology, you can get the latest messages from your favorite websites. But clicking on RSS or XML in a home page is not sufficient to give you the service you need. An RSS feed or code displayed on screen pop-up, if not on the front page consists of symbols and words that make sense only for advanced users RSS and computer programmers and software enthusiasts. Another software tool called an RSS aggregator or reader is necessary.
An aggregator works by web crawling all over the world with the most recent published on the basis of the code RSS (containing the website URL) or added provided by the user. When it finds a new posting, news, or update, which will publish the RSS feeds on your home page containing the title of the post, which also serves as a link to the web site of origin. This RSS feeds may or may not contain the entire article, a summary and pictures, depending on what RSS aggregator that you are using.
Aggregators to come in two types: the downloadable or desktop and type on-line or web-based. The desktop aggregator usually charges a certain amount for his services, which include regular update in the form of updates or patches for the original version. This type of RSS reader allows customization over RSS feeds as page format or design on its on-line counterparts. But, of course, the price can be a disadvantage.
On-line or Web-based aggregators are free. All you have to do is register an account with them, then you can start enjoying their services. Depending on the "brand" of aggregator, customization is limited. Some even allow you to customize all.
Product and service that advertisers are realizing the potential of RSS aggregators and Internet marketing. In fact, many present RSS codes most popular Web-based aggregators to reach the growing technophile and Internet-based market.
